Grandmaster CK Choi  came to Weston-super-Mare to host a seminar for 400 eager Tae Kwon Do students,

Ninth Dan Black Belt Grandmaster Choi was one of the pioneers of the worlds most practiced martial art Tae Kwon Do, he helped formulate some of the 24 patterns practiced by students worldwide,

The seminar was split between coloured belts and black belt sessions with over eighteen 5th, 6th, 7th and 8th Dan students taking part.  The students where instructed in blocking and fighting patterns developed by the Tae Kwon Do master, who will be 70 on his next birthday.

Master Dew, the chief instructor for the TAGB in the south west of England, thanked Grandmaster Choi for the session and his insights into winning the first heavyweight world full contacts taekwondo competition in 1962 and 1963.

TAGB SUCCESS AT MIXED TRADITIONAL MARTIAL ARTS COMPETITION

The TAGB National squad swept away all before them at the Clash of the Titans event in Huddersfield Leisure Centre on Saturday night the 14th November.

They beat the WKA (World Kickboxing Association) who had many European and World champions in their team, and were favourites for the event. They put out the Lau Gar Kung Fu team in the first round, then in the final the TAGB beat 3 times previous winners – Shorai Karate, who had put out the black belt academy team in the first round.

The TAGB team dominated the event and martial arts illustrated editor and organiser of the event Bob Sykes said, 'The TAGB team out kicked, out punched and out swept their opponents'. So we are now not just the best TKD team in the country we are the best martial arts team in the country.

Extra congratulations must go to Warren Vice who was awarded best fighter on the night, but also to coach Kenny Walton, who prepared the team magnificently for this event – well done  Master Walton.
