Weston Tae Kwon Do club gains four new black belts | Weston Mercury (thewestonmercury.co.uk) Anyone fancy a competition?
You are invited to take part in the upcoming TAGB Welsh championships which will be held at Cardiff Metropolitan University, National Indoor Athletics Centre on Sunday 22nd May. All the information you need is in the competitor pack here. all application forms and fees MUST be with me before Monday 4th May. As the Campus is closed today there are no classes on tonight.

The next coloured belt grading will be at Broadoak Academy on Monday 7th June, this will be a small in person grading hosted by GM Dew. Students will be being given a specific start and end time for their grading and there will be no cross over between groups, unfortunately there will be no spectators at this event. An email will be sent after next Wednesdays class with those who have been selected to take part. Tigers Grading Some of our junior Tigers will be testing on Saturday 5th June for their next belt. An email will be sent to those taking part after this Saturdays session. Bank Holiday Monday. The campus is closed so there will be no classes on Monday 31st May, go out, enjoy the (hopefully) good weather. Black Belt Patterns course There will be a Black Belt Patterns course on Saturday 4th July at Hutton Moor, this will have limited spaces and you will have to book your slot on the SW area website, I will let you know when the booking form is open. New faces We have welcomed lots of new faces into the club over the past few weeks, and hopefully we will see more adults starting and old faces returning as we return to a more normal way of training, with the phased return to training we will see juniors back to sparring and Adults using pads in during June and by the end of the month returning to an almost normal training syllabus. Club Merchandise There will be a newly designed club hoodies along with a tee-shirt on the club website very soon. Licences Please make sure your TAGB licence is in date if you are grading or attending any official events, if you are unsure if your licence is in date, ask me. If there is anything you need further information or clarification on, please ask! As the government has recently changed the level of restrictions this will allow us to resume some more classes From Monday 17th May we will run indoor adult classes and allow some more content with the juniors. Adults: Can resume indoor training but must maintain social distancing and no person-to-person contact is allowed. This will be much the same as the way we were training before Christmas. Classes Mondays @ the Campus 20:00 – 21:00 in the Sports Hall Wednesday @ Hutton Moor 20:00 - 21:00 in the Sway Studio (limited spaces) BOOK INTO CLASSES Family classes: We will resume a class where families can train at the same time, these classes will maintain the same social distance rules as adults with no contact between different family bubbles. These classes will also have new adult starters. Classes Mondays @ the Campus 19:00 – 19:55 in the Sports Hall Wednesday @ Hutton Moor 19:00 - 19:55 in the Sway Studio (limited spaces) BOOK INTO CLASSES Juniors, can now train together and use pads held by the instructor. Classes Mondays @ the Campus 1 18:00 – 18:55 in the Sports Hall Wednesday @ Hutton Moor 18:00 – 18:55 in the Sway Studio BOOK INTO CLASSES The use of footwear is now optional, as is bringing along a mat to use for floor exercise. Many of the other processes to keep us all safe remain and can be found in full when you book into class along with the full risk assessment and BTC guidelines for Return to Play. We are in the Sway studio at Hutton Moor for the next 5 weeks before moving back into the main sports hall in June. Looking forward the TAGB expect the next change in restrictions in June to enable us to return to training, grading and competing in, what was, a normal way. As the Campus is closed tonight we will run a zoom session between 18:00 - 18:45 for our Junior class, followed by a session for senior grades and adults 18:45 - 19:30
