West of England 2018

The West of England Championships was held at Hutton Moor on Sunday 11th Feb, The event saw 467 competitors from across the South West and Wales compete in sparring, patterns, team sparring and destruction events.
Owen Lockyear won silver after a close play off for gold in the boys patterns event, Owen then went on to claim bronze in his sparring division. Kiera Fereday entered her first sparring competition at Black belt level and unfortunately lost to the eventual finalist in the early rounds.
Lucky Macklin competed in the both patterns and sparring events and won silver in the adult ladies division.

The next competition with be the English Championships in Worcester on Sunday 25th March

Congratulations to all the participants of the West of England Championship this year! You guys did an awesome job! For those who wasn't able to grab a medal, don't lose hope and be more motivated to train! I believe that as long as you work hard, you'll be able to succeed sooner or later. Good luck on your next competition in the English Championships! Do your best and train hard! Don't forget to take a rest because it's also necessary to heal your body and save your energy.
